Karsten and Synek win Ladies' Trophy and Holland Beker
Ekaterina Karsten (BLR) won the Ladies' Trophy with a clear advantage for the eleventh time. Emma Twigg came in second and Mirka Knapkova finished third. Annick de Decker (BEL) finished fourth and Nora Lisa Fiechter (GER) took the fifth place. Dutch Nicole Beukers had to be satisfied with the sixth place, one spot ahead of Dutch Kirsten Wielaard who won the B-final earlier today.
Czech Ondrej Synek won the Holland Beker for the fourth time in a very exciting race with a few tenths of a second ahead of Mahe Drysdale (NZL). Lassi Karonen finished third, followed by Belgian Tim Maeyens. Canadian Malcolm Howard came in fifth and Karsten Brodowski (GER) took the sixth place. Mitchel Steenman (NED) won the B-final and finished over-all on the seventh position.
Karsten and Synek were also awarded with the beautiful wrist-watch of IWC, on top of the price money. These watches were awarded by IWC Schaffhausen for the winners of the Ladies' Trophy and the Holland Beker.
In addition to the main events, the Dutch women's eight raced the Canadian eight again and won with about the same difference of yesterday, four seconds. The dutch men's eight made an appearance today as well and won the race with great elan.
Sunday was a lovely day for the Holland Beker.
