Holland-Beker Wedstrijd-Vereeniging
The 'Committee for the Championships of the Netherlands for gentlemen amateurs in single scull outriggers' was founded in 1886 and later changed its name to the 'Holland-Beker Wedstrijd-Vereeniging'.
This organization, which is one of the oldest rowing clubs in The Netherlands, still promotes and supports single sculling by organizing a yearly rowing regatta. It also offers members the opportunity to participate in the organizing committee of this regatta. The most important race is the men's single sculling event. Since 1886 it has been the tradition that the winner receives a silk sash in the national tri-colour with a silver buckle, the solid silver trophy: 'the Holland Beker', and a gold medal.
